Some of my paraphrased highlights from the portion of the debate that I did watch could bear to watch:
Santorum: “There was a study that came out last week showing how Romenycare is like Obamacare in 15 ways.” Great, can you cite one of them? Wanna gimme a statistic from the study? Didn’t think so. Don’t bring up a “study” if you can’t even cite a line or two from it.
Santorum: “… prolific proliferator” Excuse me, is “proliferator” even a word? Didn’t think so. So shut up.
Santorum: “President Obama backed the Egyptian revolt… including the Muslim Brotherhood.” So blatantly erroneous I’m not even going to comment further.
Gingrich: (on education) “We need to put the power in the hands of the states, then urge them to put it in the communities’ hands, then urge them to put it in the parents’ hands.” So…basically you want nothing to do with education reform. You might as well have just said: “I have no plan. My plan is to let someone else deal with that shit.”
Ron Paul: ” *Insert a moderate, at least semi-practical comment that I probably at least somewhat agree with here* “ Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate that’s got a good shot at winning over independent and maybe even democratic voters.
Basically, I can’t wait until they whittle it down to just one of these guys. My money’s on Romney or Paul. But whoever it is, I can’t wait for the rebuttals President Obama will have for some of this nonsense.
