This is disgusting. A wise man once said “If you want a symbolic gesture, don’t burn the flag, wash it.” That was Norman Thomas, one of the most prominent American socialists of our time and one hell of a man. 

Also I want to point out that this image panders to a lost and pissed off group of people with no idea as to how they should deal with their feelings and no idea how government works.  

I don’t understand this at all. Isn’t the whole point of Occupy to ‘take back’ our country not destroy it? Whatever symbolism you’re trying to invoke by burning a flag is completely lost as the action only serves to piss other people off and create a prime example for the opposition to use against the larger goals of the movement. Congratulations, you just burned a flag that people died for so you could burn it.

^I agree with everything said above. People like this are part of the reason why I can’t take the Occupy Movement seriously. I understand how it’s supposed to be “leaderless” and whatnot, but this is just total chaos. They serve no purpose in burning the flag. In fact, it’s the exact opposite of their purpose. Many protesters are out there, and they’re mad about the injustice in this country, but they have no idea how to correct those injustices. And many of them don’t even know what that “injustice” entails. Clearly, these people pictured above are part of the unfortunate percentage that don’t have a clue…
