I think I’ve learned more about what happened on 9/11 today than I’ve learned in the past 10 years combined. I’ve been skimming through articles and watching news coverage/tributes all day, on and off.
But I found this story about the passengers on flight 93, which was supposed to impact at the Capitol Building, especially touching.
It’s true that you really have no idea of knowing what you will do, or even what you’re capable of doing in a life or death situation, until you’re placed in one. I can’t even imagine exhibiting the kind of courage that these men and women displayed in their final moments. They called their families, said their last goodbyes and did what they felt they had to do.
My admiration for them, and for every other 9/11 hero, whether they were a policeman, fireman, or even a businessman, will never fade.
They may be gone, but they will never be forgotten. ♥
